Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using KnowBoar ("the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

3. Content

You retain ownership of content you post on KnowBoar. By posting, you grant KnowBoar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

4. Prohibited conduct

You may not: post false, misleading, or plagiarized content; manipulate ratings or authority scores; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; use automated tools to scrape content or game the system; impersonate others; or violate our community guidelines.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices are displayed before purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support@knowboar.com. All prices are in USD. You are responsible for any taxes applicable in your jurisdiction.

6. Profit sharing and earnings

KnowBoar distributes a percentage of monthly net profit to qualifying contributors through its creator pool, growth prizes, and affiliate programs. These percentages, eligibility criteria, scoring methods, and distribution schedules are determined solely by KnowBoar and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice. Profit sharing is not guaranteed, is not a wage, salary, or employment benefit, and does not create an employer-employee or partnership relationship. Past earnings do not guarantee future earnings. All payouts are subject to minimum balance thresholds and platform verification. KnowBoar reserves the right to withhold payouts in cases of suspected fraud, policy violations, or platform abuse. Point values, conversion rates, and reward structures may change at KnowBoar's discretion.

7. User-generated content and professional advice

KnowBoar is a platform for sharing knowledge and insights. All content is created by users and does not represent the views, opinions, or endorsements of KnowBoar, LavaJar, or its operators. Content on KnowBoar — including but not limited to insights about trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction), programming, finance, health, nutrition, and other professional fields — is for informational purposes only and should NOT be considered professional advice. Always consult a licensed, qualified professional before acting on any information found on KnowBoar. Incorrect application of trade knowledge can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. KnowBoar assumes no liability for actions taken based on user-posted content. You retain ownership of content you post but grant KnowBoar a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform.

8. Intellectual property

The KnowBoar name, logo, design, and platform code are owned by LavaJar. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or our community guidelines. Upon termination, any unpaid earnings below the minimum payout threshold are forfeited. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings or by contacting support.

10. Disclaimers

KnowBoar is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user-posted content. Ratings, scores, authority tiers, and rankings are algorithmically generated and do not constitute endorsements of content quality or accuracy. Revenue projections, earnings estimates, and any financial figures displayed on the platform are illustrative only and do not constitute guarantees.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KnowBoar, LavaJar, and their operators, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use the platform; (b) any content posted by users; (c) unauthorized access to your data; (d) actions taken based on content found on the platform; (e) modifications to earnings, pool percentages, or reward structures. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to KnowBoar in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KnowBoar, LavaJar, and their operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sussex County, New Jersey.

14. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
